"Some People feel the Rain...Others just get Wet"
This quote from Bob Marley sums up what your attitude means and how it affects your life in the simplest of ways.
Rain is something that happens all the time (well not in Townsville of course, but you know what I mean…) yet it’s amazing how different people react differently.
When my kids were younger we used to take regular holidays to Cairns where it seems to rain all the time. We always went with the attitude that even if it rained we would still go out and do what we were going to do, regardless. Some of the most fun times we had were doing stupid things in the pouring rain while everyone else was holed up inside.
Everyday situations come along that interrupt our plans or inconvenience us. These vary from the smallest inconvenience to large problems, but the only thing we can control is how we react to them.
It’s easy when life has been a series of hard knocks, to look at every small thing that happens to us as just another example of why nothing works out for me. We all do it and when someone tells you to look on the bright side…well all that does is make you want to punch them in the face.
At times like these I find it best just to let go. Let happen whatever is, or will happen. Accept whatever the outcome, good, bad or really bad. Don’t blame or look for excuses, just watch it all unfold.
When the weather turns bad, just shrug your shoulders and walk out in the rain anyway.
