Valleys and Peaks

Life is learned in the valleys not on the peaks…but if you’re not careful the valleys become your peaks.

It’s obvious to say that the bad times (the valleys) are where you learn about life and this is what makes you stronger. What I have discovered with a majority of people is that the valleys don’t teach them lessons, they harden opinions and limit personal growth.

It takes a person who is very aware of themselves and their surroundings to be able to learn lessons from the bad times, and then apply those lessons to improving their life.

What happens most of the time unfortunately is that when someone is in the valley, they immediately look for someone to blame for why they are there and not at the peak.

Instead of making their way through the valley, taking whatever comes and always looking towards the peak, they stop and pull up a stump and wait for someone or something to airlift them out. Then when that doesn’t happen and they find themselves sitting in the same spot in the valley a few years later, they need someone or something to blame for their predicament in order for them to feel ok about where they are.

…and finally they get used to the valley and the valley becomes their peak.
